Powered by 43 Years of Human Intelligence
We live in a world of emerging technologies, groundbreaking artificial intelligence, faster devices with more capabilities and ever advancing new platforms. I believe it is important to design interfaces that are smart, efficient with as least effort necessary for all human beings to interactive with. Crafting an experience usable by anyone, anywhere, on any device is the fundamental basis of all my design decisions.

My UX Journey
EST. 2001
Designed for many years in traditional banking, now embracing the crypto revolution
As a creative designer with expertise in UX and UI, my career path started out with mix of working for a few startups on some really cool projects. Some successful, some not, all valuable learning lessons. Most of my work over the past 10 years or so has been working in the Fintech industry where I got to collaborate with many talented designers and intelligent developers. What I discovered that shocked me most is how archaic many of the clients I worked with had such outdated systems and how painful simple tasks for users were.
I am eager to contribute to shaping user experiences as the world shifts from legacy banking/trading systems to a decentralized and bright future of on-chain digital assets.

The Design Mindset
Understand. Revise. Repeat.
Pre-Design
My approach to design starts with a few simple questions:
What does this design need to solve?
What are the pain points and goals for the desired actions?
How can I make each action easier for the user?
These are the questions that run on repeat through my mind before I create anything. I then meet with stakeholders, challenge their thinking, and do whatever it takes to get a sense of their main goals and objectives. Using online based collaboration tools to organize the feedback collected during this discovery phase which helps plan out the best approach to the project.

Design
After research and discovery work has been well thought out, pushing pixels around is the fun part for me. I enjoy working from an empty canvas or within an existing design system. I generally work in high-fidelity almost all the time. This includes prototying interactive workflows that represent the actual desired output to be built by developers. My developer colleagues find it very helpful because they don't need to ask too many questions about "what happens next".
Post-Design
Continues with testing, collecting feedback and analyzing performance. Some might think the design phase ends here if the design checks all the boxes and performs well but I don't believe that's the correct way to think about design.
Future-Design
Are my designs ever really complete?
Nope. That's not how I approach design. My logic here is actually pretty simple. Times change, trends emerge, trends go stale, and most importantly - new technologies are discovered.
That is why I always think of my designs as "current solutions" ready for feedback. The key to great design is to understand our history of design, listen to your users on what's currently working or not working, and be aware of what's coming next.
It's this mindset that makes me want to be part of the Crytpo movement. It represents an improved design of legacy banking and trading systems. It's much easier to use, and it's better because its faster, safer and more secure to self custody your net worth.
